Contemporary music from contemporary women in Minsk
Feminists are "renting" Minsk for night night: Modern Music from Modern Women.
The musical part of the Days of Swedish Culture in Belarus offers a concert titled "Modern Music from Modern Women" by Swedish female bands Lowood, Tikkli me and DJ Furious Fiesta and Belarusian band Indiga.
According to the organizers, the concert comprises four acts. It will kick off with a quiet and melodic music. Afterwards, Tikklе me (synth-pop) will raise the party's tempo. Later, Indiga will join the Swedish girls. After the live music part is over, DJ Furious Fiesta will kick on.
Lowood combines boith the power of sound and weakness; a resoluteness which arises from children's helplessness. Teres Johansson and Kiki Halmus have played together since 2005. Their debut album was out in spring of 2008.
Electro-pop duet Tikkle Me comes from the Swedish town of Eskilstun, known for white tigers in the local Zoo and the music band Kent. Tikkle me was founded in 2006 and began with computer experiments with sound. Those experiements gave birth to dance tunes, synthetic rythms and lively melodies with deep and serious texts. Tikkle me has experience of taking part in concerts in the style of 1930s.
Furios Fiesta is a team of DJs who play dance music in a crazy way: reggae, salsa, Latin bungalow and others. They also play a lot of 1960s and 1970s hits, forgotten long ago. Furios Fiesta play at music festivals, in bug clubs and at exclusive parties.
