No grounds to lift sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers, von der Leyen says

At the moment, there are no grounds for lifting sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers, Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday.
“Sanctions were recently extended. As long as the reasons for imposing them remain relevant and until those circumstances change, I see no grounds for lifting them,” the president of the European Commission said during her visit to Vilnius.
Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said sanctions against Belarusian potash would remain in force until the end of 2027.
“There are no ways, means or grounds to revise anything at the European Union level,” the minister commented on reports that the United States had proposed that Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine lift sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizer supplies and lobby for the removal of those sanctions within the European Union.
